ICE 还针对以下一些问题作出了更新：

• we now offer http download instead of ftp
• the crash on second use bug has been fixed
• the random drop of one image from the result is fixed
• the metadata issue that prevented geotiffs from loading is fixed

Also due to popular demand we are releasing the source code for HD View SL, the Silverlight based viewer that is output by ICE and by the Photoshop Plugin.  As this name indicates we are gradually migrating HD View, a Windows only browser plugin, to HD View SL, a cross-platform Silverlight Rich Internet Application.  There are still some significant differences between HD View and HD View SL but we are confident that these differences will gradually disappear.  For a detailed comparison of the two technologies please see the HD View SL CodePlex page.

If you are interested in Silverlight programming I encourage you to download the source and start making customizations to the viewer.  Some customizations that I would love to see are different navigation UI, auto-scroll of the view, and keyboard short-cuts.

之前这些菜单选项都是灰色的，现在除了网站（也就是 Windows Live Groups）还没激活之外，其他相关的服务都可以点击了，但是只有群日历（Groups Calendar）可以访问。这些地址和 PP2 以前介绍额一样（除日历，其他都出现 404 无法找到错误）：

• Photos – http://***.groups.skydrive-beta.live.com/albums.aspx
• Calendar – http://***.groups.dogfood2.calendar.live.com/calendar/calendar.aspx

SkyDrive 是否能正常访问还关系到 Photos 服务的。Windows Live Groups 将于 11 月 17 日推出，这个日期很有意义，看起来其他 Wave3 的在线服务也应该会在下个月的 17 日推出。

SkyDrive 究竟会在何时完全向大陆开放 SkyDrive 申请呢？不开放的话，Photos 服务又将如何在大陆发展呢？

This site comes with geocoding places and addresses, road maps, satellite imagery and photography and traffic incident and flow information. In terms of content, this is what you get which is a great framework to build on.

Also, I should point out, don’t miss the right-click menu. Within the right-click menu you can add pushpins to the map which then fires off the whole Collections feature. Those of you who have used Live Search Maps in the US are well versed in how Collections allow you to login with your Windows Live ID and store your points, polylines and polygons in a cloud service we host and are available to you when you return. With Collections you can also create new lists (200 items per collection) with descriptions, URLs and photos. On the collections panel, under the Acciones (or actions) menu you can Propiedades (rename your collection and give it a description), Mostrar todo (map all your points), Enviar por email (send the collection link via email), Eliminar (remove pins from the map) or Limpiar (delete your collection).

Yahoo! Communities 副总裁 Jim Stoneham 表示：Yahoo 360 的个人资料将会被并入至新系统，但 Yahoo! 360 不会关闭。另外，更多的 Yahoo 服务的更新 Feeds 将整合入 Profile 服务，并且也会和其他服务整合，比如：首页和 Yahoo! Mail。在 Yahoo Mail 中，用户可以看到来自好友的消息，连接请求和活动更新。Yahoo 开始测试了新的首页的测试，新的 Yahoo.com 首页将会提供一个模块显示活动更新。

下面额图来自 Yahoo! 在 2008 年 CES 展会上的演示，Yahoo! Mail 首页将会显示最重要的好友的消息及更新。尽管 Hotmail 在很早以前就已经有了显示好友 Spaces 更新的功能，但我是觉得这个更新提示几乎是没有价值的，只显示了好友昵称，好歹显示个新日志标题让我瞅瞅到底是不是我感兴趣的啊。

The Multimap team has released a new free API which contains lots of robust features which you can leverage in your applications. And, if you’re a licensed Virtual Earth customer you can gain access to the Multimap platform via your agreement. So, if you see something you like on the Multimap platform contact your Solution Specialist and get them crackin’ to add it to your VE contract!

So, what’s the deal with the Multimap Free API? Here are the Marketing facts:

• We launched a new service for small businesses, personal websites and hobbyists this week.
• The service, available for free from Multimap.com, provides a single line of HTML to cut and paste into a web page.
• The user gets a slippy map in a choice of map styles (TeleAtlas, Ordnance Survey and Barts) or aerial for anywhere in the world (US included, using VE maps and aerial).
• The pasted HTML includes four hyperlinks back to Multimap.com:
  1. See this location on Multimap (for a bigger map, POI, business listings, etc)
  2. See this location in Birds Eye
  3. Get directions to this location
  4. Get directions from this location
• The service is limited to 50,000 transactions per year (which we track) and cannot be used for internal apps (eg BI, CRM)
