Unfortunately, I’m not in control of that process. I was only asked to follow up on several account to provide you a polite notification.

Because we do not have public registration open for Live.com accounts yet, all Live.com accounts currently created are considered “test” accounts. Test accounts are scheduled to be deleted in approximately 3 weeks as a pre-release step prior to the official launch of Live Mail.

You can use this 3 week period to export your address book (Options >> Export Contacts) and redirect contacts. I’m very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

I’m very sorry for the misunderstanding. My intent is not to threaten and I trust your intent is also not to threaten. J

We simply haven’t released @Live.com addresses for public use yet. The good news is that the official release of @ Live.com email registration is in several months.

As part of that launch, we are looking at addresses that were ‘pre-registered’ typically through a registration bug where a query string value could be changed to the Live.com domain value. There were also a small number of accounts which were issued to internal Microsoft team members that worked on shipping Live Mail. Some of those team members work in our China development group which is why I inquired if you were a Microsoft employee.

微软以及Ask.com近日提议那些领先的搜索引擎商，在线广告公司，以及主张保护隐私的人们坐到一起开展一次积极的对话，以讨论由在线广告和搜索大量增加所带来的隐私问题。谈话的目的是希望各产业能够统一隐私的标准，并遵循这个标准。各公司9月也会相应升级他们的服务。

Ask.com最近公布了AskEraser，一个隐私设置选项，它能够保证不会遗留任何搜索记录，这成为了同行业中第一个吃螃蟹的。Google也宣称将会改变用户隐私策略，虽然还不清楚究竟新策略是否真的有帮助。

之前我们提到代号“Gatineau”，微软站点统计服务将在夏季末推出，如今截图已经泄漏在网上了，并且简单提到了一下 Gatineau 的功能。知情人士表示此服务很快将开始 Alpha 测试，但具体日期不可公开。

Gatineau 和 Google Analytics 功能相当类似，和 Google Analytics 一样，Gantineau 整合了微软自家的adCenter ，但 Gantineau 有一些非常“特殊的”数据，如：访客性别、年龄等一些其他服务所没有的数据。

说明：访客性别、年龄等特殊数据是根据访问者的Live ID匿名统计的。不知微软是否因此被卷入隐私官司？

我们的新朋友 Belem，他是北京的 Windows Live Spaces MVP（最有价值专家），提醒了我们关于如何解决部分用户在 Spaces 更新后出现的小问题。根据 Belem 的信息，这是因为 Windows Media Player 模块被设置为了“不可见”。目前为止任何在 Spaces 部署更新之前使用 Windows Media Player 模块并且设置为“不可见”的用户的空间现在都是不可用的，但这里有非常简单的解决方法：

为了使你的空间恢复，按照以下步骤：

0. 登录Live 帐号

1. 访问”http://<你的地址>.spaces.live.com/?_c=WMP ” (没有括号，插入你的空间地址)

2. 设置”显示模式”为全部– 不要设置为不可见

3. 保存

Belem 说这个 bug 会很快修复，不过到现在还只能通过此方法恢复 Spaces。

一、邮件里对常见问题的说明（appbeta 认为比较重要一部分）：

Q: Beta 测试后照片如何处理？
A: 测试结束后你会受到继续使用的选项，如果不再继续，所有照片都将被删除并不能恢复。所以，之前应确保数据备份。

Q: 我可以从 Online Store 删除数据吗？
A: 可以。

Q: 可以备份所有数据吗？
A: 不是，只有照片和图片可以备份。

Q: 可以自由选择备份哪些文件夹吗？
A: 可以，有相关选项。

Q: 备份后照片版权仍然属于我吗？
A: 是的。微软不会宣布对其拥有版权。

Q: 我如何知道空间不足？
A: 一旦空间消耗殆尽，你就会收到空间已满的黄色警告。

Q: 空间已满后会发生什么？
A: 会收到黄色警告。一般来说，你需要购买更多空间或者删除一些照片。

看了以上的问答，相信大家对在线备份已经有了大概的印象。因为要使用在线备份首先需要激活 OneCare，所以随邮件发送的25位字符的 Key 有两个，一个是激活 OneCare 的，一个是激活在线备份的。激活后，OneCare 仍然提示你可以免费使用12个月，一般来说够用了。激活后的界面是这样的：
