新 Windows 8 用户界面，代号“Wind”？

根据意大利网站 windows8italia 的消息，微软下一代 Windows 操作系统将会分 32 位和 64 位，并有两套独立界面。主要界面代号为“Wind”（译为“风”）并且只支持带独立显卡的高端笔记本和台式 PC，界面需要 170MB 左右的显存。“Wind”仅能在 64 位 Windows 8 系统上激活，而且是全 3D 的。

windows8italia 继续补充，“Wind”界面将会全动态，会自动习得用户使用习惯。图标和快捷方式将会根据不同使用场景加速日常任务。同时也据说 Windows 8 将拥有全新的快速休眠机制，系统将会在 3 至 6 秒将内存中的数据保存至硬盘，以便下次恢复使用（之前泄漏的 Windows 8 文档也有提到“快速启动”）。

从“Wind”界面的需求来看，Windows 8 的“Wind”界面并不适合便携笔记本电脑、高续航能力要求的设备，但估计 Windows 8 的另外一套界面则是完全为性能和功耗优化的。

微软发布 Internet Explorer 9 Beta 更新，增强其稳定性

今天不少已经在使用 Internet Explorer 9 Beta 的朋友已经陆续看到了 Windows Update 中的更新提醒。值得注意的是，这个更新并非昨天提到的泄漏版 IE 9 Beta。

IE 9 官方团队也提到了此次 IE 9 Beta 的两项更新：

一项更新包括了 Internet Explorer 9 Beta 稳定性修复，推荐安装（KB2448827）
另外一项则是针对 64 位系统上的 IE 9 反馈发送特性和 Windows Live Essentials 2011 问题的修复（KB2452648）

已经开启 Windows 系统更新的用户无需手动下载，只需确认安装更新，系统即可自动安装。强烈建议那些经常遇到 IE 9 Beta 出错情况的朋友安装 KB2448827 更新补丁。

Windows Live Messenger 不支持 XP64位，事实是怎样的呢？

Inside Windows Live Messenger 发布了一篇关于Windows Live Messenger 将通过系统更新升级至 8.5 正式版的文章。但其中有一段引起了包括 Long Zheng, Jonathon Kay, 和 Raphael Rivera, 以及许多人的“反抗”：

A special note for those of you running Messenger 8.5 Beta on Windows XP 64-bit or Windows 2003 Server: the final version of Messenger 8.5 will not install or run on your OS. We don’t want you to get stuck out in the cold so you will not receive the mandatory upgrade to the final version. However, these operating systems won’t be supported by future Messenger versions. You may stay on your current beta version, or to get to a more stable final version we recommend that you uninstall Messenger 8.5 and go back to Messenger 8.1.

现在这里有两个问题：问题一是，Windows Live 软件都是使用统一的安装管理程序的，用户可以自己选择需要的程序进行下载安装。但是，现在出现的 Installer 无法安装在 XP 64 位系统上，那可能仅仅是因为其中的一个程序无法安装在 XP 64 位系统上而导致整个无法安装（很可能是 Windows Live Family Safety ）。

我们都知道 Windows Live Installer 的工作原理的：安装管理程序 Installer 调用独立的 MSI 安装包来安装的。Windows Live Messenger 8.5 的 MSI 在 XP 64 位上也能很好的安装运行。但现在被官方宣布为不支持，我们之前也提到过，对于64位的系统，直接用 MSI 安装包即可。

问题二，Inside Messenger 博客日志中的 “Messenger 8.5 will not install or run on your OS”。我们都知道事实上是可以运行的，只是 Installer 的某些问题。还可能是因为 Messenger 团队已经很少写日志了，渐渐远离了用户。总之这次是官方误导了大家，应该做出一些回应。

Jacky Mok 发布了 Windows Live Suite Wave 2 系统要求的公告：支持 64位系统，但只限 Windows Vista。根据 Jacky 的文章：

目前 Windows Live Installer 暂不支持 64位系统，但也有方法成功安装 Windows Live Installer 和 Windows Live Messenger、Windows Live Mail、Windows Live Writer 和 Windows Live Photo Gallery。

Windows Live Wire 表示，他们正在努力使 Windows Live Installer 支持 64位Vista 系统，目前正在内部开发和测试，并希望在秋季末推出。

64 位系统上安装 Windows Live Suite Beta

“Windows Live 2008″ 初体验一文中提到，Windows Live Suite beta 暂不支持 64 位系统，其实每个 Windows Live 软件都是支持 64 位系统的，但是问题就出在 Windows Live Installer 上。

如果你运行着 64 位系统，并且想尝试这次的 Windows Live Suite ，这里有一些建议：

在已经安装过 Windows Live Suite 的 32 位系统中找到
Windows XP:
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Application Data\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources\
Windows Vista:
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources\
文件夹，选择 3 中的你需要的安装文件，进行安装。
使用 http://www.anti-tgtsoft.com/?p=14 的修改 Hex 方法修改：
修改 WLinstaller.exe：找到 0×1B9F0 ，把 74 改为 EB。
运行 WLinstaller.exe：尝试安装所有产品，忽略所有的错误，再退出。
访问 %systemroot%\Syswow64\config\systemprofile\AppData\ Local\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources ，进行安装。
选择自己需要的安装吧：
Windows Live Writer
