BuddyFuse 需要用户绑定其 Google Talk、Twitter 或者 Hyves 的帐号（点击 Messenger 界面上的 BuddyFuse 按钮 –> Manage BuddyFuse accounts 进行绑定）。绑定成功后，BuddyFuse 自动会在 Windows Live Messenger 邮件提示的左侧显示对应服务的选项按钮。

点击 Windows Live Messenger 界面上的 Google Talk 按钮可选择登录/登出 Google Talk，登录后，Google Talk 的联系人将加载于 Windows Live Messenger 好友列表中。Google Talk 联系人并没有特殊标识，不过 BuddyFuse 将新建 Google Talk(BuddyFuse) 分组。

通过 Windows Live Messenger 与 Google Talk 联系人聊天与 Windows Live Messenger 本身的体验相同（见下图）。

只要 Windows Live Messenger 在线，也就能保证绑定的 Google Talk 帐号在线，并且该 Google Talk 显示的头像和个人状态就是 Windows Live Messenger 中设置的。

另外，当该绑定的 Google Talk 帐号收到 Gmail 邮件，或联系人上线时，Windows Live Messenger 都会弹出右下角提醒。

至于 BuddyFuse 的 Twitter 整合，BuddyFuse 仅提供了通过 Windows Live Messenger 个人状态更新 Twitter 的功能。当然，大部分中国用户在绑定和使用该 Twitter 功能时需要使用一定的“技巧”。

BuddyFuse 暂无中文语言版，不过更值得期待的是，BuddyFuse 开发团队正在开发整合其他 IM 软件以及 SNS 服务的功能，例如：整合 AIM/ICQ、Facebook 等。

由于该版 Windows Live Messenger 编译日期为 4 月 1 日，故称其为“愚人节版”，同时 Gtalk 也有更新以实现 Windows Live Messenger 与 Gtalk 的双向互通。截图如下：

好吧，不要太声张叻，泄漏不是光彩的事。话说，谁让泄漏该版的经理那么晚才上线呢，我只好做“最大的傻瓜”叻。

事实上，Messenger 与 GTalk 互通的信息从 07 年就开始流传了。

根据 mynetx 的消息，微软已经着手与 AOL, ICQ, Skype, Facebook & Google Talk 互通，Windows Live Messenger 产品经理 Dharmesh Mehta 称：

“We are currently aiming to achieve full integrative support for widely popular instant messaging networks. Therefore, we have started discussions with the back-end and front-end Developer Teams of AOL LLC, Skype Ltd and Google Inc. Furthermore, we have intensified our cooperation with Facebook Inc. for a similar purpose.”

根据来源，这些“互通”将于 2009 年第 4 季度推出，正符合 Windows Live Wave4 的发布日期。

这意味着，Windows Live Messenger 就可以代替 AIM, ICQ, Skype, GTalk, Facebook，利用 Windows Live Call 也可以和 Skype 进行电话互通。反之，这些 IM 也可代替 Windows Live Messenger，这与用 Gmail 通过 POP3 收发 Hotmail 是如此的相似。

另外，别忘记今天才 4 月 1 日。

很显然，微软已经成功地将 Windows Live Messenger 9（内部测试版）与 Google Talk 互通，并且正在尝试与 AIM 和 ICQ 互通。

我们可以确定的是，Windows Live Messenger 9 beta 已经和 Gtalk 互通。我们已经在10月份的时候，发布过 Messenger 9, GTalk 整合, Messenger API, Mac OS X 版新客户端信息:

Internal builds are already at WLM 9 and includes many of the API components. They have a team working on multi-person audio/video chat for WLM that may or may not be in 9, but should be in by 10. They are also trying to work out a way for WLM users to chat with AIM/GTalk/ICQ users like the way Yahoo! works now, and they have an internal version that works with GTalk already (but very basic).

微软正努力尝试让 Windows Live Messenger 与其他聊天软件互通：AIM/GTalk/ICQ。目前已经能与 Gtalk 能进行很基础的互通。

但目前仍然没有这方面的具体信息，但我们相信接下来的一年将会是一个非常有趣的一年。:P

The API is very basic right now but by the time the first beta is released, the team hopes that they can include full support for everything that the full messenger client uses, including audio/visual protocols and other things on top of the basic text messaging and nudge messaging that the API currently includes.

Hollingsworth 虽没带相机，但仔细地做了记录：

一些附加的消息，包括新版 Xbox 上的 Windows Live Messenger：

He did all of his coding in Visual C#, and he said that a newer version of the Server API would be released soon. Oh, he said that the WLM that is integrated into the Xbox Live platform was version 7, and they are currently working on upgrading that to WLM 8.5 and possibly even 9.

I think that is about everything, we talked for a couple of hours after the presentation, but that is all covered under beta NDAs that we are both under.
