微软移动平台服务产品管理高级总监 Todd Brix 在 Windows Mobile 官方博客确认了 Windows Marketplace for Mobile （即微软 Windows Mobile 应用商店）的最新发布计划。
Windows Marketplace for Mobile 发布将分为两个阶段：
- 第一阶段：针对 Windows Mobile 6.5，于 10 月 6 日上线
- 第二阶段：针对 Windows Mobile 6/6.1，于 11 月上线
在第二阶段，微软也将开放 PC 端的 Windows Marketplace for Mobile 应用商店体验，用户可通过 PC 浏览、购买、评论 Windows Mobile 应用。
另外，微软在 10 月 6 日也将发布微软 My Phone 正式版，支持远程锁机/远程销毁数据、寻找丢失手机功能“Find My Phone”，并可能推出收费的 My Phone 高级服务订阅。
