Windows Live Wire 博客坚持发了几篇 Wave3 新产品的博文，这次轮到了 Windows Live Movie Maker。Windows Live Movie Maker Wave3 Beta 体验中 Picturepan2 的感觉就是 Movie Maker 太粗糙了，而我也觉得，这只是 Prototype 阶段的版本，连一些常用的特效都没完成，可见这次 Beta 的目标只是程序框架而已。Eric 解释道：微软决定从零开始开发 Windows Live Movie Maker，并且使用了 Ribbon UI，而不是基于 Windows Movie Maker（Vista 自带的）。
After a lot of investigation, we decided to start fresh. We were inspired by the video-sharing solutions that were starting to spring up, and we were intrigued by the rapid advancements in graphics hardware, especially the increasingly capable GPUs on the latest video cards. And we were impressed with the results realized by Microsoft Office 2007 and the new “ribbon” user interface model.
新的界面比 Windows Movie Maker “精简”多了，而且也没有“时间轴”，我不觉得微软已经找到了新的模式来组织影片元素的顺序，好在现在只是最早的 Beta，或许再过一阵子的 M3 Beta 版会给我们惊喜？
Movie Maker 将使用和 Photo Gallery 同一个插件平台，Movie Maker 在我写这篇的时候只有一个上传插件 – MSN Soapbox。等 Wave3 全面铺开后，Gallery 应该也会相应多一个栏目咯。
Eric 表示目前 Windows Live Movie Maker 只完成了 20%，如果真的如他所言，我还是蛮期待另外的 80% 的。
