上次大致介绍了一下 Windows Live FrameIt 这项新的 Windows Live 服务，如今官方的 Space 也已经发表了第一篇日志，并且，Windows Live FrameIt 站点也已经上线了，地址：http://frameit.live.com。

FrameIt 主要有以下 3 个功能：

• 访问在线照片，如：Windows Live Spaces，或者 SmugMug，然后显示于数字相框中。
• 查看本地交通和天气，以及本地、国际新闻。
• 可以与好友、家人共享媒体、收藏。

在第一次登录 FrameIt 之后，你将会看到一个介绍该服务的页面，并给出通过范例开始使用、或者从空白开始使用的选择。默认配置的是 FrameIt 团队博客，以及 Seattle 的天气。由于这是该服务第一次出现，还存在相当多的问题。

目前 FrameIt 中的媒体源基本就是新闻，照片，另外自己也可以添加 RSS（相信将来这些会整合入 Windows Live Gallery）。用户可以自定义何时如何显示这些图片，这样的整合和管理使得设备的自定义方面已经进入了新的阶段。

我也尝试了添加 LiveSino 的 RSS，并设置显示照片。大家可以在 http://livesino.frameit.com 看到效果，目前还不支持中文，如右图。

整体来说，FrameIt 服务刚刚开始，并未感觉出有何特别，但在未来几年，随着支持 RSS 的设备，以及数字相框普及，相信这款服务还是能有一定影响力的。这也暗示着，微软将会与不少数字设备厂商进行合作推出支持 FrameIt 的产品，很期待明年的 CES 09。

现在，用户无需登录或者注册就可以预览好友共享的文件或工作区了。当然，前提是对方是设置如下：

1. 打开 Office Live Workspace 中需要共享的工作区，或者文件（鼠标移至工作区 Workspace 数秒即会出现菜单）：

2. 点击共享 Share，在共享设置面板中，添加那些需要预览的联系人的 Email 地址，并选中 Let everyone view this without signing in：

欧洲环境署和微软合作开展了一项新的项目：监测整个欧洲范围内的海滨浴场的水质。

Eye on Earth 站点链接 —— Eye on Earth Water Watch。

我们可以放大地图来查看针对每个海滩欧洲环境署的水质监测结果，或者可以对每个海滩评分并且添加反馈意见。

Live Search 的新界面（我们曾两次提到：Live Search 添加了背景图片，以及新背景图片）将会在接下来的 24 小时里在美国推出，其他地区市场将会在将来推出。

该新界面设计增加了背景，以及内嵌交互“热点”，点击后将会使用 Live Search 进行相关内容搜索。该背景是固定的，刷新是不会改变的，但 Live Search 团队并会经常更换背景。

“热点”部分会在首页刚载入的时候闪烁提示用户，之后隐藏，当鼠标经过的时候，又会出现。该“热点”提供了一些文本介绍，以及相关搜索链接:

随着 8 月份的临近，我们应该很快就能看到 IE8 Beta2 的面世，并在今年内就可以用上正式版的 Internet Explorer 8。当然，每一个正式版的软件产品的面世，都绝对离不开那些先期积极参与测试的 Tester 以及他们有价值的反馈意见。

今天，IE 团队的项目经理 Allison Burnett 就在 IE 博客上广发英雄帖 。如果你有关于 Internet Explorer 重要的反馈意见并希望能够帮助 IE 做的更好，可以直接发送电子邮件至 IESO@microsoft.com ，并在电子邮件中包含你自己的简单自我介绍以及能够成为一个有价值的 beta Tester 的理由 。

另外，还可以参考 IE 博客上曾经帮我们介绍过如何提交 IE8 的反馈意见的其他途径：

• IE8 Technical Beta - We are inviting a group of beta testers from around the world to do beta testing of IE8 and provide us with bugs.  These beta testers commit to spending time with IE8 betas and file bugs when they observe unexpected behaviors.  The IE team will be evaluating this set of bugs, looking for the most impactful bugs to all of our users.

When you encounter a site that is not rendering correctly, you can submit a report.  We use these compatibility reports to populate our compatibility test suite with real site issues seen by users around the world. 
• Automated Customer Feedback – Internet Explorer uses an automated system to collect real-world data about the causes of customers’ pain—primarily about crashes and hangs, as well as data that gives us a picture of how IE8 is being used in the real world.  The IE8 betas will be opted in by default to Customer Experience Improvement Program, so we can use this automated data to inform us on issues that are affecting beta customers at large. 
• IE Beta Newsgroup – This new newsgroup is the all-in-one place to discuss items about IE8 betas.  Our Microsoft MVPs and IE team members will monitor this newsgroup.

Live Mesh 团队宣布了 Live Mesh 更新将会在今天晚些时候推出：

The Live Mesh team is pleased to announce the release of our next update, available later today. We are making Live Mesh available to more people and we’ve greatly streamlined the sign-up process. • 简化申请过程，对于非以上提到的 4 个国家中的用户，已无需在 Microsoft Connect 注册，可以直接在 www.mesh.com 注册，Live Mesh 会在该注册 Live Mesh 用户的所在国家开放申请之后，立刻提醒用户

就和其他 Live Mesh 更新一样，如果你在安装的时候启用了 UAC，在这次升级过程中，你也必须启用 UAC。如果你想去掉这个 UAC 要求限制。可以按照以下的步骤来完成：

• 开启 UAC
• 在 Live Mesh 设备管理页面中，删除该设备（点击设备名旁边的 Options 选项，然后点击 Remove device from Live Mesh）
• 在控制面板中，卸载 Live Mesh 客户端
• 关闭 UAC
• 重新访问 Live Mesh 设备管理页面，并添加该设备
• 与该设备再次同步

另外要说明的是，现在已经加入 Live Mesh 技术预览版的用户邀请已经没有限制了，因此可以邀请你所有的好友加入到 Live Mesh。邀请的方法很简单：打开一个 Live Mesh 文件夹，并在 Mesh 边栏中选择 Members，然后点击 Add，你就可以输入你好友的 Live ID 了。

LiveSide: Live Mesh: Next Update Announced

Chris 再次发现了 Mac 版 Live Mesh 客户端的下载页面，但现在 Mac 版 Live Mesh 客户端下载链接再次被微软删除。自上次的泄漏之后，我们发现登录 Mac 版 Live Mesh 需要进行更新才能继续使用（但无法更新），而这次泄漏的版本号和之前一样。

在一个星期前，我们发布了一篇 Mac 版 Live Mesh 客户端 Pre-Beta 体验。以下是 Mac 版 Live Mesh 客户端的一些功能：

• 将 Mac 添加至你的 Live Mesh 中，并且在 www.mesh.com 中显示该设备。
• 在 Mac，其他计算机，以及 Live Desktop 之间同步文件。
• 在 Mac，以及其他文件夹成员之间同步文件夹。
• 支持访问 Live Mesh 新闻，Live Desktop，以及管理其他设备。
• Live Mesh 更新提示，并能自动更新。

在 Mac OS X 中，Live Mesh 客户端将会与 Finder 整合，在文件夹边缘会显示 Mesh 边栏。该 Meshbar 边栏提供了最基本的功能，包括：设置，查看相关信息。功能上和 Windows 版 Live Mesh 边栏很类似。

同步的选项也很类似，允许同步文件至云，或其他设备，以及将来的 P2P。

另外，不要忘记微软已经开放了 Live Mesh 移动版访问，可以通过 http://m.mesh.com 访问。该移动版支持 iPhone/iPod Touch，Blackberry，Symbian 设备，以及 Windows Mobile 设备。但目前上传功能只限 Pocket IE 浏览器。

LiveSide: Live Mesh Mac client now not available for download [Updated]

今天微软宣布了一个 MSN Direct API，允许网站可以通过无线或者 USB 连接发送定位信息至导航设备：

MSN Direct opens up opportunities for Web sites in a variety of areas — real estate, travel, event planning and food service — to make it fast and simple for visitors to have access to turn-by-turn directions on their navigation device,” said Joe Coco, product unit manager of the MSN Direct initiative at Microsoft. “MSN Direct helps consumers get the most out of their navigation device, while also helping businesses drive more customers to their locations.”

A number of MSN Direct partners, including Garmin and Alpine Electronics Inc., plan to ship or are already shipping GPS products that are compatible with the MSN Direct Send to GPS feature.

“As more and more consumers are using their PC to locate their desired destinations and then needing to find those exact locations on their GPS device, MSN Direct is making that process easier for our customers,” said Roger Jollis, Garmin’s director of OEM and mobile marketing. “Garmin was the first to offer MSN Direct on an automotive GPS, and we are pleased with MSN Direct’s newest innovation because it will be very helpful to our customers.”
