微软已经正式发布了 Windows 10 October 2018 更新（代号 Redstone 5，版本号 1809），可以等待 Windows Update 的自动推送，也可以手动检查更新。
微软这次在减少 Windows 10 更新对用户使用影响方面下了很多功夫，除了智能判断什么时候方便安装更新、重启系统，在晚上更新也会静音防止惊醒用户，缩短最多 31% 安装时间，体积更小的更新安装包。
这里整理出了 Windows 10 October 2018 更新中 10 大值得关注的新功能：
Your Phone – 可以让你的 iPhone 和 Android 手机快速与 Windows 10 PC 共享照片，Android 手机还支持在 PC 端收发短信，将来还能在 PC 端使用 Android 应用。
如果你在用 Android 手机，Microsoft Launcher 已支持 Timeline 的显示。
黑色版 File Explorer – 微软已为 File Explorer 增加黑色版本，来适配系统整体的黑色主题。
新的 Snip & Sketch 截屏工具 – 原本是 Screen Sketch 功能，现在已经独立出来成为系统的截屏工具，快捷键 Win + Shift + S 可以打开截屏工具条。
云剪贴板 – 期待已久的云剪贴板终于到来，可以直接在设置 > 系统 > 剪贴板开启，按下 Win + V 打开剪贴板历史面板，可以选择之前复制的内容或者置顶某一项。
Microsoft Edge 浏览器更新 – 增强的学习工具，PDF 工具条增强和渲染改进，继续改进 Fluent 设计，重新设计的菜单和设置界面，自定义工具栏功能图标，Jump List 显示最常访问的站点，控制多媒体是否自动播放，改进下载面板，新的 Web 标准支持（比如 Web Authentication API）。
微软记事本 – 支持 Unix/Linux LF 和 macOS CR，加强查找和替换功能，自动会记录之前的搜索和当前选中的文本，文本缩放，支持换行显示下的字数统计（还有其他字数统计相关的 Bugs 修复），性能改进、Ctrl+Backspace 删除上一个文本。
SwiftKey 输入法 – Windows 10 的输入法体验开始由 SwiftKey 驱动。还能展示 AI 是如何帮助你输入更有效率，可以在设置 -> 设备 -> 输入中看到。
系统搜索增强 – 新的搜索预览界面，可以方便文档或者其他搜索结果，在打开前可以预览其内容，如果是搜索的应用，能打开最近使用的文件。
Windows Mixed Reality 增强 – 增加 Flashlight 功能可以让你不用摘下眼镜就能看到现实中的情况。新增快速操作，比如返回主屏、截图录屏功能。还支持耳机和 PC 同时播放声音。
Windows 安全方面增强 – Windows Defender 安全中心更名 Windows Security，更加完整的安全信息（比如第三方杀毒软件的整合），优化威胁报告的界面，受控文件夹访问改进，Fluent 设计更新，支持 Linux 子系统，应用守护增强，帐号保护增强。
Windows 10 October 2018 更新中其他还有其他功能，包括：
- Emoji 11 – 新增 Emoji 157 个，可以通过 Win + . 打开 Emoji 面板来选择，旧的 Emoji 设计也有微调优化。
- 更好的 HDR 显示器支持。
- 任务管理器新增 – 电源使用和电源使用趋势。
- Game Bar 增强 – 新界面新音频控制，独立应用更方便启动，更少的游戏打断，同时还能看到性能图（FPS、CPU、GPU、RAM）。
- 开始菜单文件夹命名 – 展开文件夹可以看到命名的选项。
- 远程桌面支持生物特征识别 – Windows Hello for Business 拥护可以使用生物特征识别功能来验证远程桌面的身份。
- Windows 10 登录支持 Web 登录 – 支持非 ADFS 提供商的登录（比如 SAML）。
- 共享 PC 的“快速登录” – 多个系统帐号或支持访客帐号就可以使用。
- Inking 墨迹功能 – 所有现代应用（可理解为 UWP 应用）在数字笔状态下选中文本框，默认是打开新的手写识别框。
- 非管理员用户安装字体 – 非 Store 方式安装字体，可以安装到当前用户，这不需要管理员权限。当然仍可以选择给所有用户安装。
- 新的右键菜单 – 新 Fluent Design 设计的菜单，可以方便剪切、复制、黏贴（支持触控），采用新图标，富文本框还有加粗、斜体等选项。
- 无障碍功能 – 屏幕朗读器快速开始教程，屏幕朗读器的键盘改进，让显示设置的选项更清晰。可以将系统字体整体放大，支持整个系统内的文字、Win32 应用和 UWP 应用，比较适合老年用户。屏幕朗读器也有改进，加入了新的键盘布局、自动对话框朗读查找、扫描模式中的选择、对象列表（链接、标题等界面中的内容）。
- Skype for Windows 10 – 增强通话体验，可录音和录视频；灵活改变群组视频聊天的布局；支持隐私对话；更方便的屏幕共享；新的联系人布局；选择可定制主题；改进媒体库、通知面板等，支持 To-Do 任务管理。
- Microsoft Font Maker 应用 – 可以在 Store 内安装，自己写字母设计字体导出可以在其他地方使用。
- 新的诊断数据查看器 – 现在已经在 Store 内推出，可以查看 Windows 10 收集的诊断数据（系统相关、设备相关信息和健康度、网络信息、浏览历史、产品和服务使用数据、软件更新和安装信息），以及错误报告，这些信息都无法定位到具体的人，隐私可以放心。
